My name is George Novik, and I founded Zerocoder.com, a platform that connects businesses with the best-fit no-code developers to help them launch their projects quickly and efficiently.
Tell us more about Zerocoder
Zerocoder is an all-in-one no-code development platform for startups, offering services like web applications, mobile applications, landing pages, and graphic design. Our goal is to help businesses launch their MVPs faster by matching them with vetted developers who can deliver development work on a fixed monthly fee basis.
What’s your background, and how did you come up with the idea?
Although I don't have a formal bachelor's degree, I have studied computer science and gained extensive knowledge in the field. With six years of experience in software development, I have worked in various roles, including Software Engineer and Product Manager, which has provided me with valuable insights into the industry.
The idea for Zerocoder emerged when I was working on my own startup and needed to create an MVP for my project. I realized that traditional coding solutions were both expensive and time-consuming. This experience inspired me to develop a platform that could provide more accessible, efficient, and cost-effective no-code solutions for businesses like mine, helping them to launch their projects faster and more successfully.
During the early stage of the company, how did you get your first customers?
During the early stages of Zerocoder, networking and referrals played a crucial role in acquiring our first customers. I created a list of around 20 people I knew who might potentially need some development work done. I manually called and texted all of them, offering my assistance in building an app or web app for them at a minimal cost or even for free in exchange for referrals if they were satisfied with my work.
Since I didn’t have an extensive portfolio at that time, offering my services at a lower cost or for free was essential to building a client base and gaining valuable references. My first project was for Squares — Real Estate and Equipment Rental Services. We built a marketplace on Bubble in less than a month, and within a couple of months, the company attracted its first investment. This initial success helped pave the way for more projects and solidified the foundation of Zerocoder as a reliable no-code development platform.
How’s the business doing now?
Zerocoder has experienced significant growth and success since its inception. Currently, we serve over 20 clients every month and have a monthly recurring revenue (MRR) of over $57,000.
Our revenue not only comes from no-code development services but also includes secondary services such as SEO, marketing, and other related offerings. As the business continues to thrive, we remain committed to improving our platform, expanding our range of services, and delivering exceptional results to our clients.
What has been your biggest achievement so far?
My biggest achievement has been the successful launch of https://donenote.com/, a product specifically designed for designers and developers. This Google Chrome extension enables users to quickly share site notes with clients, streamlining the process of working on edits.
I managed to develop and launch Donenote.com in just a month, and since then, it has attracted over 500 users, with nearly 20% of them becoming paying customers. This accomplishment demonstrates our ability to create valuable, effective, and user-friendly solutions in the product development space.
What has been the biggest challenge in your journey?
Our biggest challenge has been keeping up with the rapidly evolving no-code development landscape and ensuring that our platform remains at the forefront of innovation.
What’s something you know now that you wish you had known when you started?
I wish I had known the importance of building a strong, diverse team from the start. A team with different skills, backgrounds, and perspectives is crucial for driving innovation and overcoming challenges in the fast-paced world of technology.
What advice would you give to new entrepreneurs?
Stay focused on your goals, but remain adaptable to change. Don't be afraid to take calculated risks and embrace new opportunities. Surround yourself with a supportive network of mentors, colleagues, and peers who can offer guidance and encouragement.
How do you keep yourself motivated?
I stay motivated by setting both short-term and long-term goals, celebrating small victories along the way, and learning from setbacks. I also stay connected with the no-code development community, drawing inspiration from others' success stories and innovations.
What are your plans for the next 6-12 months?
Over the next 6-12 months, we plan to expand our services, onboard more skilled developers, and strengthen our global presence. We will also continue to invest in research and development to ensure our platform stays on the cutting edge of no-code technology, providing our clients with the best possible solutions for their projects. We also successfully integrate AI into the development process.
