How to Know What Features to Highlight

Are you selling in a crowded market? Not sure which of your features will catch people’s attention? Here’s a way to clamber above your competitors and get noticed.

It works with most websites carrying reviews with star ratings.

Visit the website and search for what you sell. Filter the results to show the rating that’s one below perfect.

For Amazon this would be the 4-star reviews. This part of the land is where you often find gold.

Look at what the reviewer is happy with – and their reasons for not giving full marks. Was it something about the service? Was there something missing? Were you selling a 100% cotton t-shirt that a customer said was “too cottony”?

Note down themes that keep coming up. You’ll soon learn what customers value most. Then you’ll know what features you should highlight. It’s a roundabout way of saying, “We’ve got what our competitors don’t”.
