The tactic: Add highly relevant phrases to articles that Google Search Console reported as us ranking for, yet the phrases were missing from the article.

Step 1: A person on my team identifies these missing relevant phrases from GSC. We built a custom tool that connects to the GSC API to pull the top 25 queries by impressions and scans our article and spits out the ones that are missing.

Step 2: Someone with topic knowledge goes through the 2,500 - 5,000 word article to find places to add the phrases. They insert them into existing sentences or add within a new sentence. This can take 45 to 90 minutes, depending up on the number of phrases and article length

I created a prompt that gives ChatGPT the article text & missing phrases. It spits out a list of sentences to add each phrase to & rewrites the sentence with the phrase. If it can’t find a sentence, it writes a new sentence with that phrase & tells us which paragraph to add it to

My editor reviews each suggestion & makes any necessary changes. Then they start adding in the missing phrases according to ChatGPT’s instructions. The recommendations are great about 70% of the time. This now only takes them 10 minutes 🙌
